8 Weeks to Go: North Coast 500 FKT Attempt

In just eight weeks, I’ll be taking on the challenge of running the North Coast 500 in an attempt to set a new Fastest Known Time—and a world record. This journey has been both physically and mentally demanding, and the training process has brought its fair share of fear and self-doubt. I often worry whether I’m doing enough.

But today was a huge confidence boost.

Despite never focusing on speed (most of my training has been structured around ultramarathons), I set personal bests in both the 5K and 10K:
🏃‍♂️ 5K – 18:47
🏃‍♂️ 10K – 38:40
This is the first time I’ve ever run sub-19 for 5K and sub-40 for 10K.

I’m committed to trusting the process and the guidance of my coach. I haven’t missed a single session, even when it’s been tough.

With 8 weeks left, I’m all in.

I reserved accommodation for myself and my crew for the night before and after the attempt yesterday, making it all very real.

I’m also fundraising to help cover some of the costs associated with this project. Any support—whether through donations or simply sharing the link and spreading the word—means the world to me.
