My Approach

Therapy should fit the person, not the other way around.

I work integratively, drawing mainly from person-centred and psychodynamic approaches. That means there is no fixed script, programme or version of therapy that everyone has to follow.

What integrative means

I do not try to fit you into one model.

Integrative therapy means I draw from more than one therapeutic approach rather than asking every person to work in exactly the same way.

My work is mainly grounded in person-centred and psychodynamic therapy. You set the pace and we work collaboratively, while also staying curious about patterns, relationships and experiences from earlier in life that may still be showing up in the present.

Different things can be useful at different points. The aim is to work out what makes sense for you now, rather than following a structure simply because that is how therapy is supposed to look.

The approaches I draw from

Two perspectives, used flexibly.

These approaches give the work a foundation, but they are not boxes I expect you to fit into.

01 / Person-centred

Person-centred therapy

You are the person who knows your own experience best. Person-centred work puts that at the heart of therapy, giving you space to explore things at your own pace without me deciding in advance what you should be talking about.

02 / Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy

Sometimes what is happening now makes more sense when we look at patterns, relationships and experiences from earlier in life. We can explore those connections without assuming that your past explains everything.

Working together

Collaborative does not mean passive.

I am not here to tell you what to do, but I am also not going to sit quietly and agree with everything if I think something else may be more useful.

01

You set the pace, and we decide together what feels useful to explore.

02

I can offer structure when it helps, without turning therapy into a fixed programme.

03

I am direct and honest, and I can gently challenge patterns when that feels useful.

04

The work can change over time. What you need at the beginning may not be what you need several months later.

No fixed version of therapy

Structure when it helps. Flexibility when it matters.

There is no set number of sessions and no fixed length of therapy. Some people need shorter-term support around something specific. Others want or need more time and depth. We can work that out together rather than deciding it in advance.

Who I work with

Different people. Different starting points.

You do not need to arrive with a neat explanation of what is going on. My work includes teenagers, young adults and adults across a range of specialist areas.

01

Eating disorders

Including disordered eating, body image concerns and complicated relationships with food, exercise and control.

02

Neurodivergence

ADHD, autism and neurodivergence, whether diagnosed, undiagnosed or something you are currently exploring.

03

Athletes

From club level through to high-performance sport, including the overlap between food, body image, perfectionism, identity and performance.

04

Teenagers + adults

I work with teenagers, young adults and adults, adapting the work around age, circumstances and what each person actually needs.

The practical side

Therapy that can fit around real life.

01

Fully online

Sessions take place via Zoom, so you can access therapy from anywhere in the UK.

02

Flexible scheduling

I try to be as flexible as I can, including around work, training, competitions and changing schedules.

03

No fixed length

The depth and duration of therapy depend on what you need. We can review that as the work develops.

A note on language

Language changes, and I want to get it right.

I try to use the most accurate and respectful terms available at the time of writing, particularly around neurodivergence and mental health. Language in this space moves quickly, and if something on this site reads as outdated by the time you find it, please know it was not written with any ill intent. If you spot wording that needs updating, I would genuinely welcome an email at info@saraeydmann.com.

Thinking about therapy?

You do not need to know exactly what kind of therapy you need.

Tell me a little about what is bringing you here and I can let you know whether I may be the right person to support you.
