I work with athletes, clubs, teams and performance environments that want psychological support without reducing every conversation to how someone can perform better.
I am not a sports psychologist. Sports psychology is often focused on performance optimisation, helping an athlete perform more consistently or effectively.
My role is different. I offer counselling around the things that can sit underneath performance: identity, body image, eating disorders, perfectionism, pressure, relationships, injury, transitions and the psychological weight of sport.
Sometimes better wellbeing supports better performance. But performance is not the condition someone has to meet for the work to matter.
Support can be individual, embedded within a team or shaped around what a club or organisation actually needs.
Club-level through to high-performance athletes looking for confidential counselling that understands the realities of sport.
Organisations that want access to a counsellor who can support athletes as people, not only as performers.
Coaches, support staff and multidisciplinary teams looking to strengthen the psychological support around athletes.
Every athlete is different, but these are some of the areas that may come into the work.
Eating disorders, RED-S, body image and difficult relationships with food or exercise.
Perfectionism, pressure, fear of failure and self-worth becoming tied to performance.
Injury, reduced training, retirement, deselection and transitions within sport.
Identity, relationships, neurodivergence and life outside the athlete role.
The setup can be shaped around the environment, the level of support needed and whether you are looking for individual counselling, embedded team support or collaboration within a wider support structure.
Confidential online sessions for athletes who want ongoing psychological support outside the performance conversation.
→A regular counselling resource that gives athletes somewhere independent to access support within the wider team environment.
→Working alongside coaches, clinicians, dietitians, nutritionists and other relevant professionals where appropriate and with the athlete's consent.
→In performance environments, the psychological side can sit alongside medical, nutritional and coaching support. Where appropriate, I am happy to collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team while keeping clear boundaries around confidentiality and the athlete's consent.
I am an integrative counsellor and an active ultra runner. That means I understand the language, routines, pressures and culture of endurance sport from lived experience as well as through my therapeutic work.
I do not assume that being an athlete explains everything about someone. It simply means you do not have to spend half the conversation explaining why sport matters before we can get to what is actually happening.

Tell me whether you are contacting me as an athlete, coach, club, team or organisation.
That may be individual counselling, an ongoing team resource or a more collaborative setup within an existing support structure.
If what you need falls outside the work I offer, I will say so rather than trying to make the enquiry fit.
Tell me a little about the athlete, team or environment and what kind of support you are looking for.
