About Sara

I’ve always been interested in how people work.

I’m Sara, an integrative therapist working online across the UK. I specialise in eating disorders, neurodivergence and supporting people within sport, but the starting point is always the individual in front of me.

How I got here

For a long time, I thought I wanted to be a psychologist.

I’ve always been interested in people and in understanding why we think, feel and behave the way we do. Psychology felt like the obvious route for a long time.

As I got older, I realised the part that did not fit for me was the idea of placing people into fixed models or diagnostic boxes and then working from there. I wanted the person in front of me to shape the work, rather than asking them to fit the approach.

Counselling gave me a way to work that felt much more natural. It meant I could stay curious, draw on different therapeutic ideas and adapt the work around what someone actually needs at that point in their life.

Why I specialise

I’d rather do a smaller number of things well.

I have never wanted to present myself as someone who works with absolutely everything. My focus developed through personal experience, professional training and seeing the same gaps in support come up again and again.

01 / Eating disorders

Eating disorders

Eating disorders are spoken about more openly now, but accessing support that sees the whole person can still be difficult. That is particularly true when food, identity, neurodivergence or sport overlap.

02 / Neurodivergence

Neurodivergence

Personal experience has shaped my interest in ADHD, autism and the many ways neurodivergence can affect identity, relationships, sensory needs, routine and someone’s relationship with food.

03 / Sport

Athletes

Sport can be brilliant, but performance environments can sometimes become so focused on results that the person underneath the athlete gets lost. That gap is a big part of why this work matters to me.

Working with me

Warm, collaborative and direct when it is useful.

I do not see therapy as me sitting on one side of the screen with all the answers. We work together, and the way we work can change depending on what you need.

01

You set the pace. I will not push you into conversations you are not ready for.

02

I am direct and honest. I will not simply agree with everything if I think gentle challenge or curiosity might be more useful.

03

I draw mainly from person-centred and psychodynamic therapy, but I do not expect you to fit one fixed model or structure.

The person first

The diagnosis can matter. It just is not the whole story.

Labels and diagnoses can be useful. They can explain things, open doors to support and help people understand themselves. I just do not want them to become the only thing we see. Therapy still has to make sense for the actual person living it.

Outside therapy

You will usually find me running.

Running is a big part of my life and these days that increasingly means trails, long distances and ultras. It also gives me a genuine understanding of the culture, pressure and mindset that can come with sport.

The full running story lives on the Sport side of the website, where things get a little less therapeutic and a lot more mountainous.
